Business Management Systems, Inc. is a systems integrator supplying turn-key computer systems to the retail hardware, lumber yard and home center marketplace. BMS offers state of the art IBM computers with software and services to automate every facet of a store's business, from the cash register functions at the front counter, to the financial statements at the end of the month. BMS is a 'SINGLE SOURCE' responsibility company. The
BMS software was developed from a detailed industry specific design, and then
fine tuned for installations ranging from single stores (averaging $140,000
annually) to stores with multiple locations (over $50,000,000 annually!) The key strategy behind the BMS philosophy is creating a team approach to installing the system so the customer is up, running, and productive in the shortest possible time! Mark Adams started BMS in 1984. Prior to that time, he worked as a data processing consultant and programmer specializing in industries with unusual inventory requirements. One such client is The Home Depot, for which Mark wrote the Inventory control programs when it was just a start of company of two stores! This Company now has sales in the billions of dollars per year. Concentrating on the needs of the Building Material Dealer, and the consequent solutions for their needs, he has acquired an expertise in this area as extensive as any in the computer industry. Mark to this day is President and CEO of Business Management System. Clay
Adams Sr. became a principal of the company in 1986. He worked for IBM
Corporation in both systems and sales for the transportation and warehousing
areas. He was later employed as a data processing executive for distribution
companies in the auto parts and wholesale hardware businesses. These
associations led to his involvement in the development of a point-of-sale
system for those companies to use. He brings this experience with him to BMS The combined strengths of the principals and an excellent support staff give BMS a firm foundation to provide a complete system and support package that is second to none! BMS installed the first retail point-of-sale system in October of 1988. Now, the Business Management System is installed and used in over thirty states... coast to coast... and even in several foreign countries! BMS
continues, to this day, the strong traditions on which it was built!
